DJ Nobu is a DJ from Chiba city in Japan.
He organises now legendary party called Future Terror and his own label Bitta in his home town.
NOBU’s stance as a DJ can be best described as underground — his persistence is undisputed.
However, that should not be confused with stylistic inflexibility. Rather, his approach is singular and ever-changing, constantly modified and adjusted to the quality and the concept of each gig he plays. He keeps it all underground, yet he manages to mutate it. It is this ability that makes him stand out, as can be heard on his official mixes such as Dream Into Dream (tearbridge), ON (Musicmine), No Way Back (Lastrum) and Creep Into The Shadows (Underground Gallery.)
In recent years, he has been programming his set around highly abstract techno with authentic floor anthems, textured avant-electronic music as well as unknown house tracks, along with even more obscure contemporary electronic pieces. He excels in threading challenging tracks from his wide repertoires into a compelling story.
What he could present on the dance floor with his DJ set has gained much love and applause, even among many international acts he shared the stage with. Lately, he has been touring regularly to Europe including several appearances at the techno institution Berghain, collaborating with Smoke Machine crew from Taiwan, building his network worldwide to explore his new frontiers.
Italian Giuseppe Tillieci has always paid great attention to the technical aspects of his sound whether crafting in the studio, DJing or playing live around the world. As such his output on labels like Prologue and Silent Season fuses rhythm and texture with techno and ambience in hugely captivating ways. Of course, Neel's main output to date has been alongside long-term professional and personal friend Donato Dozzy as Voices from the Lake, but soon he is to release his first solo EPs and a debut LP called Phobos on the Spectrum Spools label.
Someone able to make music that is as deep and obscure as it is fluid and rhythmic, Neel also performs in three different ways in clubs around the world. Firstly, he is an exceptional DJ able to fuse together the sort of cerebral and cohesive sets that really transport you to another realm. Secondly, he performs a mesmerising AV show with the help of a mysterious visual artist. It recently debuted at Mutek and marries abstract visuals with atmospheric sonics, leaving audiences left adrift in wide open spaces of sound that work the head as much as the heel.
Finally, of course, there are the shows along side Donato as Voices from the Lake, which see the pair explore experimental underwater sounds influenced by nature, African drums, Kosmische and minimalism. Neel, then, is a true modern day techno craftsman who can do surreal and unusual things with sound in truly unique ways.
natural/electronic.system. are Antonio Giova and Valerio Gomez de Ayala, a dj/producer duo from Naples, Italy. Both inspired by electronic music since the end of the ’90s, they were later influenced by the florid Neapolitan house/techno scene and inspired by the foreign djs coming to perform in Naples clubs. Over the years they became keen on the old and modern sound coming from another Italian city, Rome, where they started connections with local musicians such as Donato Dozzy, Neel and others.
Antonio and Valerio have been a force within techno’s underground since 2004 when they decided to found the natural/electronic.system project, gaining respect through their much revered podcasts for cult websites such as mnml ssgs and Smoke Machine, as well as their international dj sets.
They have a real ability for building their sets, allowing the music to breathe and slowly develop. Their sound explores the deep, psychedelic potentialities of techno, tinged with experimental and dub sensibilities, their track selection is impeccable, as is the pacing of their sets. The special talents of Antonio and Valerio brought them performing around the world including the mighty Labyrinth festival in Japan.
