Strati meets Sensoralia #2
- Diamond Version DE - Mute / Raster-Noton
- Brando Lupi IT - Detune
- stochastic resonance IT -
A collaborative project between the duo consisting of Alva Noto and Byetone (Raster Noton’s co-founders), and the Japanese artist Atsuhiro Ito, known for his use of modified fluorescent tubes as a sound source (the instrument which he christened the Optron). In an incisive and elegant show, Ito’s solos are an excellent noisist counterpoint for Diamond Version’s minimalist post-techno screens. Discharges of sonic distortion to compliment the masterful patterns of constructivist electronica produced by Bender and Nicolai.
Producer, musician, DJ, photographer, Brando Lupi’s influences range anywhere from post industrial-rock, experimental electronic to modern classical. The Italian native has had a history working alongside a number of talented artists.
He's the owner of the label Detune Records, founded in 2000 with Attilio Tucci.
Brando’s releases have been picked up by the likes of Orange Groove , Samuvar , Dewtone Recordings , Mental Groove ,Zooloft , Detune Records and Elettronica Romana. He has composed a score for the movie “La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi”, distributed by Medusa, with the soundtrack signed by Mike Patton ,leader of Faith No More, and presented at the 67th Venice Film Festival. He currently resides in Rome, spreading experimental spiritual frequencies across the world.
Stochastic Resonance is an independent label that moves within the experimental electronic scene in Rome. SR offers high-quality products and outputs, whose ultimate goal is not only distribution and selling, but is found in the uniqueness of its artistic projects, which move between experimentation and harmony, sliding the sensible impulse into multimedia.
Stochastic Resonance is a network of artists devoted to experimentation with new forms of communication, resulting from the collaboration between different audio-visual-creative, digital and electronic languages , in order to produce a deeper and more perceptive work thanks to the mixture of genres and different sensory contributions.
The label takes its name from the physical phenomenon of the stochastic resonance, where a low-level signal becomes louder and perceptible through the addition of other signals or even noise, the non-signal for excellence.
Taking inspiration from this awesome phenomenon, in SR projects, an idea is developed through a noise cloud coming from different sensitivities, producing a unique style in which beauty and technical are the two halves of a single, deeper thrust of contemporary art.
