Dino Sabatini is recognized as the inciter of Italian techno scene and main character of labels such as: Elettronica Romana - Prologue - Stroboscopic Artefacts - Sonic Groove.
Also known as part of the duo Modern Heads, 2006/2007 he released may sussessful Eps: “Paper Toys ”, “Ordinary Madness” and “Gliding ” are just a few pearls of a style which is now one the most followed and have been inspiring many artists from the international techno scene. His solo productions mark the birth of a new techno concept that leaves no room for labels or definitions. The continual search for new soundscapes and complex rhythms followed by hypnotic sequences and harmonic twists make Dino Sabatini unique in his way of making techno.
The double EP “Daughter of Phorcys” on Prologue spread strong signal immediately catched by the best techno clubs and dj’s worldwide. Coming to now days Dino Sabatini’ last a constant seek for new musical boundaries led him to create his own label Outis in order to express other artistic tensions and needs. Outis’ first release “Modulated Waves EP” collecting complete consensus among the international techno scene.
During Autumn 2012 and after a whole year of research “Shaman’s Path”, his first concept album, has come to life on the label he was kicking off, Prologue.
“Shaman’s Path” could be considered in every aspect a work that goes beyond the classical canons of techno and is also the confirmation of an artist who has no boundaries.
Italian Giuseppe Tillieci has always paid great attention to the technical aspects of his sound whether crafting in the studio, DJing or playing live around the world. As such his output on labels like Prologue and Silent Season fuses rhythm and texture with techno and ambience in hugely captivating ways. Of course, Neel's main output to date has been alongside long-term professional and personal friend Donato Dozzy as Voices from the Lake, but soon he is to release his first solo EPs and a debut LP called Phobos on the Spectrum Spools label.
Someone able to make music that is as deep and obscure as it is fluid and rhythmic, Neel also performs in three different ways in clubs around the world. Firstly, he is an exceptional DJ able to fuse together the sort of cerebral and cohesive sets that really transport you to another realm. Secondly, he performs a mesmerising AV show with the help of a mysterious visual artist. It recently debuted at Mutek and marries abstract visuals with atmospheric sonics, leaving audiences left adrift in wide open spaces of sound that work the head as much as the heel.
Finally, of course, there are the shows along side Donato as Voices from the Lake, which see the pair explore experimental underwater sounds influenced by nature, African drums, Kosmische and minimalism. Neel, then, is a true modern day techno craftsman who can do surreal and unusual things with sound in truly unique ways.
Valerio Gomez de Ayala
Valerio Gomez de Ayala was born in Naples (Italy) in 1984, and he’s now based in Rome since 2011. He's one half of the dj/producer duo natural/electronic.system.
At the end of the '90s, he started collecting techno, IDM, ambient, experimental, house and electronic music records from all over the world. He was later influenced by the florid Neapolitan house/techno scene and inspired by the foreign djs coming to perform in Naples clubs.
He met his friend Antonio in high school. Together they founded the natural/electronic.system. project in order to express their personal definition of sound, mixing together different genres of electronic music during dj sets aimed at having organic textures of sound.
Over the years they became keen on the old and modern sound coming from another Italian city, Rome, where they started connections with local musicians. At the same time, n/e.s. started performing dj sets in different Italian cities, while running some nights in Naples and private parties in the forests on the slope of the volcano Vesuvius. In 2009, natural/electronic.system. took part to the mighty Labyrinth festival in Japan.
Since then, they started exporting their distinctive sound in different clubs and festivals. Since 2012 Valerio is resident DJ at the STRATI night in Rome.
